Interactive NDVI Map

  • NDVI  = Normalized Difference Vegetation Index
  • NDVI is a measure of the state of plant health based on how the plant reflects light at certain frequencies (some waves are absorbed and others are reflected) due to chlorophyll
  • NDVI is a fancy name for simple formula = (NIR – RED)/ (NIR + RED),  where
  •      NIR  =  reflection in the near-infrared spectrum (around 832.8-864.7 nano meters)
  •      RED =   reflection in the red range of the spectrum (around 664.6 nano meters)
  • Draw a shape and wait for the NDVI Analysis Chart to be generated
  • Check Layers to see how NDVI looks like
